Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is the term used to describe the learning activities professionals engage in to develop their skills and abilities, allowing learning to be conscious and proactive.

CPD combines different methodologies to learning, such as training workshops, conferences and events and e-learning programmes, all focused for an individual to improve and maintain effective professional development.

The Security Institute toolkit is a self-administered method of identifying and recording learning, with the challenge of achieving 36 points or more each year.
